Overview Norma describes her personal education history at Tuatapere School, Dux of Nightcaps District School, attendances at Southland Girls High and later to training College. She talks of teaching techniques and outlines her teaching career as well as comparing the current education system with past.

Overview Muriel discusses her family and education history which reflects on the times i.e. training to be a teacher and her first posting at Nightcaps, marriage, life on the farm pre electricity and telephone; country life, being a member of the WDFF through which she ran sewing classes. Muriel tells of their connections with Waipara lighthouse and her husband Ronald’s war years.

Overview Agnes discusses life on ‘Glenaray Station’ sheep station where her father was Head Shepherd. She goes on to talk about her education through to Gore High School before going onto teacher training in Dunedin. Agnes taught at Balfour School before her marriage. Her husband had a farm. She returned to teaching after children and retired in 1997. She tells of her involvement in Rural Women. Tells of her children and their careers.
