Overview Letitia Douglas was born in Invercargill in 1916 and lived there all her life. In this interview she recalls her education at Waihopai School and Southland Girls High School and her maternity, Plunket, midwifery and postgraduate nursing training. She describes joining Guides in 1929 and being in the Southland Girls High School Company and the St John's Church Guide Company. She recalls washing being done in the boiler, learning Highland dancing at which she won many medals going on to teach Highland dancing herself.
