Known for his protrait and studio work, Thomas Muir was a partner alongside George Moodie in the well-known Muir and Moodie firm, having previosuly worked with Alfred Burton of Burton Brothers.
He established a studio in Invercargill , assisted by his duaghter Mona, from approximately 1916 - 1939.
