**Founding Members: Mesdames Peteri, Anderson, McKay, Alsweiler, Excell, Auckram, Hunt, Davis, Courie, Misses Kennedy and Sandri. Meeting held at the RSA Club Rooms 18/11/1953. This inaugural meeting set down times of future meetings, frequency, rate of subscriptions, period to be counted as financial year and the matter of affiliation with Auckland. Notices of meetings were to be published in the 'News' and the 'Times'.

(SO591/2) MINUTE BOOK 13/11/1977- 8/9/1992. A book covered in patterned gift paper.

This record contains typed minutes for the period above. Each meeting has been recorded on a page of notepaper which has then been taped into the book. Meetings appear to have been held regularly and in members' homes. The records begin with the AGM held 9/2/1978 and the Minutes of the February meeting, held on the same evening and following the AGM, and concerned the following topics:- *Reunion *25th Anniversary 11/11/1978 *ANZAC Day.

Other events of note: *The 40th Anniversary Celebrations were held in Dunedin July 1982.

*The "Leander" Reunion service at the Cenotaph 15/7/1984

*1992 50th RNZN Anniversary, to which a Southland Representative was invited.

This set of records begins with the AGM of the Association, held Sunday 13/6/1993, at Naval Association Club Rooms, 238 Fitgerald Avenue, Christchurch, at 10.30 a.m. (p.64)

*20/4/2008: AGM Motion: "that the NZ Ex-Wrens' Association, Southland branch, no longer be an official branch but remain as a social group." Carried unanimously. The records finish there. (p.167).
