Dear Jane, Just a line or two to let you know I am still going strong on the road to that country everyone likes so well & have been marching for two weeks & goodness only knows when we will reach it. We have been having a good time coming through this country & the people go a bit mad on the Digger. We were always told Belgium was starving & all that but of what we have seen it is far from it. You can buy cakes which have plenty of sugar o & in them, far better than you can buy in England & all the people are jolly well & not one wee bit starved. Of course things are a good price but still it’s there to be
