Content Notes
The programme for the "Nellie Stewart Season". Two palys were performed in the Municipal Theatre, Invercargill: "When Knighthood Was In Flower" and "Sweet Nell Of The Old Drury". Nellie Stewart took the leading role in both.
Complete lists of the actors are given on Pages 3, 5 and 7. The programmes is also interesting for the advertisements it also contains. On the back cover is a full-page advertisement for the 43rd Annual Gathering and Games to be held in Queens Park on Monday, 2 January 1911. It was organised by the Caledonian Society. Whether the money listed beside each event is the "purse" or the entry fee is not explained. But large amounts for the times.
