Overview
This interview was recorded as part of a project to celebrate of 125 years of Women's Suffrage in New Zealand. Ruth details her family history growing up on a farm at Otatuhi and her education. She shares memories of life on the farm, after school activities and sport playing netball and trying many others. She discussed always wanting to be a vet and gaining entrance to Veterinary School. Ruth also describes her interest in health, eating the right way and her enjoyment of running. She describes the transition from university to fulltime employment as a vet. She found she preferred small animal work and discusses the reasons for this. Ruth details her continued interest in sports which lead to interest and participation in Cross Fit sport, going to the World Cross Fit Games in 2011 and becoming a coach.
