Overview
In this interview Peter talks of his family settling at Warepa and their history. His Grandfather wrote a book titled ‘Pioneering in Otago’ and Peter himself wrote a book about the Ayson Story. He was appointed the Chief of the Ayson Society. He recalls memories of his home, his mother’s chores e.g. laundry, cooking etc., his own chores, silent movies and the first talking movie. He covers social customs events and gatherings e.g. Christmas, gift evenings. Peter tells of his education, employment, marriage and children. He looks at the war years and family members that served; ANZAC days/parades.
