Dear Jane Have just time to write you a note before going out for eggs & chips. Am feeling hungry & you get a feed nothing like giving it a go. I have not seen Ewen or Bill since Thursday as I was sent out to the transport lines on fatigue. Don’t know how long I will be here but it will last for a day or two yet. The Coy could come out for a spell today.

Well I think this is long enough now. Bill & Ewen are out at a job tonight but will be in now any minute. Hope you are all well at home. Bill received a Life tonight but he is disappointed as he has not got his letters yet but he will get them in a day or two. Love to all at home. Tell Jane I got the Xmas Cake but it did not last long but was very good indeed. Yours Doie
