Dear Father Just a line or two to explain why you are getting so many cables for money. I sent you one about six months ago & don’t know if you got it but I have not had any word of the money so it could not have gone through. Sent you one again last night & hope that reaches you OK. I should be getting some leave (8 days) in a few weeks now but won’t be able to take it as I have no loot. Aunt Mitchell told me to send to her if I ever wanted any but can’t come to that as she has been too good to me now. As you know I have had three leaves already & done it all on

the money you sent & what I had saved but it is all cut out now. Will get draft leave from Sling so hope the money arrives by then. Have had a good spin here now & am ready to go back again as soon as they like though it is not the nicest place in the world. Having glorious weather here just now but too hot for training. I do it jolly hard going through all that rot again after two years in the army but it has got to be done. Will close now hoping you are all well at home & give my love to all Yours Doie
