Biographical / Historical
Collection created by John Francis (Jack) Tourelle (28/03/1926 - 28/03/2002).
An avid genealogist, Jack researched a number of families, including creating comprehensive family trees for the Boyle and Forde families. He also wrote a weekly column for the Southland Times on geneaology.
Educated at Marist Brothers, Jack had jobs in a number of different industries before working as an insurance broker for Noble Lowndes Ltd for 30 years.
His interests included swimming, helping to found the St Mary's Swimming club. He was a member of the St Theresa's Catholic Parish and the Marist Brothers Old Boys Association.
