Biographical / Historical
First known as Mail Order Services Southland when it began trading in 1965, before changing its name the same year to Town & Country Supplies Ltd. Had two stores on Dee and Leven Streets. Ceased trading in 1981. Leven Street premises were taken over by the Southland Rural Economic Society Ltd., which became part of Combined Rural Traders Ltd (CRT), and is now Farmlands Co-operative Society Ltd.
