brooches and other ornaments are made
if fine silver wire. While in the
factory I had a solid lump of
gold in my hand, it was small
very heavy and worth over £200,
I felt very rich for a couple of
seconds. A soon as I finish this
I am going into Cairo, with my
truck, to bring leave chaps back
to camp, and will probably have
to do three or four trips, so I will
not be getting into the old cot
until after midnight. Jim Lennox
and Mark Blackie both send
their regards to all of you at home.
I am going to the pictures (in camp)
with them, tomorrow night. I have
not heard from George Troon since
he went to Italy recently, but will
be getting a note, any day now. I had
a letter from a mate in Advance Base
last night, and he said they had
over a foot of snow. I am glad I am
over here. Will have to say
cheerio now old dear, space is
limited. Lots of love and kisses
and good luck. Your loving brother. Eric
