Dear Dorothy, On the 26th of last month I replied by airgraph to a letter I had just received from you, dated 11th Jan, so now for the letter I promised. How are things with you old dear, still busy at the nursing. I am waiting to hear all about your holiday at the Island and no doubt will in the next lot of mail, which I hope will not be long in coming to hand. I hope Margaret Cochrane has recovered from her illness by now, the holiday at the rocks would do her good. I see that you still have a liking for kittens and pups. I had a small pup for two days on the way down from Syria but was not allowed to keep him on the Ambulance so gave him away. Are you still going to the races,

you will lose some cash one of these days and then you will think they are not so good. Next time you see Miss Brown from the Express Coy. give her my regards. You were lucky being able to get a film for your camera to take to the Island, we can’t get them over here. I don’t know what has happened to my camera, I think someone else thought they had a better use for it than me. I haven’t had a note from Jock for a while now, so do not know what he is up to. I have seen Russell twice in the last five days. The first time was five days ago when I went down to his unit to see both him and Cecil Dixon. They are both in the same unit and are good cobbers. I spent the afternoon and had tea with them. Then Russell took me back to my unit on his motor-bike, I rode it back with him on the back. He came to see me for a while, the night

before last. Both Russell and Cecil wished to be remembered to you. Had I been back in my old unit I would have seen quite a lot of them as I was usually attached to their unit with my ambulance however I am hoping to get back on the old job before long and then everything will be O.K. once more. Do you still see Scotty Donald occasionally if so tell him that Vic Durant and I were asking for him. I was over at the old unit two nights ago, talking to Vic and the rest of my mates. Yesterday we shifted to another area and are now parked in a big olive grove at the foot of some mountains. I have a truck of my own now a 3 ton Chev and find it a bit different to my good old Austin ambulance. However it is not a bad bus but nowhere in the same street as the old bus She was a home on wheels. In our last area, I saw three pictures shows in a week which were run by our Y.M.C.A. mobile cinema

The pictures were ‘I Married A Witch’, ‘Meet Mr Jordan’, and Charles Laughton in ‘The Man From Way Down Under’, which was a real good picture, and if it is in In’gill any time you should see it. The other two weren’t much but still they filled in a couple of nights. Well Dot, old dear this is all the news for the present so will sign off until next letter. By the way I wrote 3 airgraphs and 2 letters to you last month so let’s hope you receive all of them. I believe some of our February mail was lost. Cheerio until later, and lots of love and kisses.
