Biographical / Historical

Established 1863, the aerated water and cordial manufactory was established by Louis Hume at 112 Esk Street, in a wooden building with rough cast frontage. Hume sold to William J. Moffett in May 1869, who expanded the business to include wine and spirits, raspberry vinegars and tonics. Moffett sold the factory in 1935, but the production and name continued until the late 1950s.
