In this interview Jeanette tells of her nurses training and career. She became the Principal Nurse at Riverton Hospital in 1977 and remained in this position until 1997. She explains some of the initiatives she introduced which included: patients dressing during the day, visits from the local Playcentre, a cat and dog, making better use of staff resources through changes to shifts. She goes on to tell of efforts to stop the closing at various times. Jeanette had a 39 year career in nursing.

Errol first arrived in Te Anau from Auckland to work as a ranger for the Fiordland National Park Board in the mid-1960s. He soon discovered that commercial deerhunting, a job for which he had previously gained experience as a Forest Service culler in the North Island, was a more lucrative option.
