Overview
In this interview, Thomas talks about his recollections of Drummond Village and the school in the 1920s. He talks about his experiences during World War II. He trained at Forbury, Burnham and Trentham and served in Egypt, North Africa and Italy as a gunner in the 29 Battery, Head Quarters and 6 Field Regiment (No. 283856). He talks about the comradeship, down time activities, allowances, receiving parcels and letters from home and what it was like coming home after the war ended.

In this interview William recounts his family history, his education and love of sports. He played in the 1st 15 at Southland Boys High school and Western District later going on to become a referee of senior rugby.
