1.30 Born In INVERCARGILL, Moved to MAKAREWA during WW2. Father went to CAMP
1.50 Father was Cheesemaker.
2.10 Education in WYNDHAM. She was 7 when they moved there.
3.00 Played BASKETBALL and TENNIS.
4.06 Left school at 17. Attended Wyndham District High School.
5.20 Lots of students would leave as soon as they turned 15.
6.20 One of her brother's became a mechanic, another was apprenticed to a builder.
7.00 Worried about the WAR. JAPAN entering the war.
8.00 Was 16 when peace was declared.
8.30 BABY BOOM
9.00 On return some men got farms, some men returned to their old jobs.
9.30 Women were released from work.
10.00 Enjoyed SCHOOL socials and musical things.
11.10 Entertainers from INVERCARGILL came to the SCOTTISH HALL.
12.00 Went SWIMMING.
12.40 Wyndham had bakery, grocery shop, two dairies. Butcher and farm supply shops. Two Banks and post office. Dairy Factory.
