She began her training at St Helen's and had a 14 year tenure as a maternity nurse at Dee Street Maternity Hospital. She also recounts her personal experience giving birth to her second child at the Dee Street Maternity Hospital. When her children were young Tui worked regular school hours but this changed after 5 years, in the early 1970s, when her hours were changed to 8 hours shifts in the morning or afternoon...
