Biographical / Historical

From the collection of Murray and Margaret Hirst. Murray worked for H & J Smith in the 1950s as a carpet layer and also wrote poetry for the H & J Smith 'Service' magazine using the non de plume 'Rigger Mortice'. He was also a props manager for the Operatic Society. They were parishoners of First Church until 1970.
