Overview

This interview covers Betty's life and in particular her life in Glengarry where she moved in 1966. It was recorded as part of the Discovering Glengarry's Community Spirit Project in 2014. Betty discusses family history, living in Invercargill until the age of 16 when she moved to farm at Oreti Plains. When she met her husband, they moved into a home they had built in Glengarry. Betty recalls life in Glengarry e.g., the first supermarket in Invercargill, helping at school fairs, visiting neighbours, children’s games and the general social history of the area.
