Scope and Contents

A gentleman [Sir Joseph Ward?] is addressing a crowd from the Band Rotunda outside the old Post Office, Dee Street, Invercargill. Duncan McFarlane (d. 1918), Mayor of Invercargill 1892-1893 and 1913-1916, can be seen to the right by the poll, and behind him is possibly William Scandrett (d.1917), Mayor of Invercargill 1894-1895, 1904-1909 and 1912-13.
