Vibrant Invercargill
Established in 1997, Vibrant Invercargill was charged with the task of breathing life back in to the inner city by improving customer service, promoting business opportunities and creating a robust street life atmosphere. It was to do this by working alongside the Invercargill City Council in a 50/50 partnership on the inner city steering group committee, representing the interests of business owners and the wider community.
For much of its existence Vibrant Invercargill was run by a voluntary board of CBD business representatives and a paid manager.
From July 2014 Vibrant Invercargill no longer received funding via targeted rates on CBD businesses, but continued its work on a voluntary basis for a short while before finally disbanding.
