GEOFFREY DAWSON TAYLOR – Born in 1908 Married Isabella Edith 'Belle' McARTHUR in 1930 Died 10 June 1994 One sibling – GLADYS HAVELOCK TAYLOR born 1905 – Married James Wilfred McARTHUR (brother of Geoffrey's wife Isabella) in 1933 – Died in 1992 at Alexandra
[The parents of James born 1906 and Isabella born 1910 are ALICE CRAWFORD and JAMES McARTHUR who married in 1906]
[PARENTS]: ALEXANDER TAYLOR of HAVELOCK, HAWKES BAY – Born about 1880 South African War Veteran – Died 17 April 1968 – Buried at ALEXANDRA EVELINA 'EVIE' or 'EVA' – an only child – Born 1870 at CONROY'S GULLY, ALEXANDRA (NOTE: There are many spellings of EVELINA'S name and all need to be followed) – No clear evidence of her death
They were married in St Paul's Cathedral on 25 April 1904

RICHARD DAWSON – Born about 1833 in either YORKSHIRE or LANCASHIRE – Came to NEW ZEALAND via the goldfields of CALIFORNIA and VICTORIA (AUSTRALIA) to CONROY'S GULLY in CENTRAL OTAGO in about 1862 – Died at Earnscleugh in 1916
ELLEN DARLING – Born in DUBLIN – Came to NEW ZEALAND in 1862 They were married in 1864 – Died at Conroy's Gully in 1914 Established ROSE VALE GARDENS (orchard) and are responsible for the well- known DAWSON cherries named for ELLEN ('GRANNY DAWSON') Information about GEOFFREY DAWSON TAYLOR
