Overview

This interview is part of the "Discovering Glengarry’s Community Spirit" project. Michael talks about life during childhood and different places he lived, ending up in the Glengarry suburb of Invercargill. He describes his inspector role with Invercargill City Council Building Consents Team and about serving as a liaison between Invercargill City Council and the South Alive Community Group, where he became involved in community development and voluntarism through such projects as establishing the Elles Road Dog Park. Talks about character of the Glengarry neighbourhood and his involvement in community activities such as the Glengarry Market and the Fire & Light Midwinter Festival. Michael also talks about the need for facilities to serve youth in Invercargill.
